“Responsive” remains a major keyword going into 2015. Estimates are that nearly 2 billion Smartphones will be in use by the first part of 2015, with over 85% of them used to browse the web. What does that mean?
It means that a web page has to perform just as well on a smartphone as it does on a laptop or desktop. The world is moving toward a mobile environment. The desktop is slowly becoming obsolete. I grew-up on a desktop so this is a bit disconcerting. Whenever I go into tech stores now all I see are portable devices: tablets, notebooks, netbooks, and smartphones.
The vast majority of websites I design are responsive by nature. This ensures that it is functional across all mediums.
